Abdominal and Iliac Arterial Imaging

An abdominal ultrasound can assess if a patient has an aneurysm and provide the measurements to determine the aneurysm’s size and location. The scan also assesses whether there are any blockages or narrowing in the aorta and iliac arteries. An ultrasound will also be performed routinely on patients who have an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) in order to see if, and how fast, the aneurysm is growing.

An abdominal and iliac arterial ultrasound requires fasting for 4 hours prior and this non-invasive scan takes approximately 15 minutes.
