What tests do we perform?

We perform a variety of tests on your vascular system through duplex ultrasound and pressure studies.

Duplex ultrasound involves applying an ultrasound probe to the surface of skin allowing sound waves to pass into the blood vessels. These sound waves bounce off the blood vessels and return to the ultrasound probe displaying an image of your veins and arteries, as well as the blood flow.

Pressure studies provide a quantitative analysis of blood supply and perfusion. This is obtained by comparing the blood pressure of the lower limb with the arm.

More detailed information for specific tests can be found under Diagnostic Tests.
